(soft music) – Hey everyone, this is Inga. It is Sunday today. It’s a beautiful day outside. I’m at home, in my kitchen. A bunch of you have asked me how I make my own boba at home, so I figured today would be a great day to kind of show you guys how I do it. I’m thinking of making a brown sugarboba milk, because recently it’s just been blowing up in New York. I had the chance to go to OG location in Taiwan. Apparently, it’s shut down now, but basically, it’s (speaks foreign language). And brown sugarboba milk is pretty just brown sugar, boba, and milk. There’s no tea involved, so it’s really Just these really sweet, really indulgent drinks. It’s actually fairly simple to make it at home. Today, I am going to make my own version of it, so then I can just enjoy it in the comforts of my own home and hopefully you can too. Let’s get started on the boba first. There’s really only three ingredients. Tapioca starch, there’s water, and then there is brown sugar. And you just combine these together. Taking it off the heat to combine it with some tapioca starch. Put it back on and let it slowly cook to thicken. It’s almost like thick mochi sauce. We are now good to add the rest of the starch and combine. You don’t wanna over mix it, but then you also wanna make sure that it’s like combined. Pouring it out. And now we knead. You just wanna keep on kneading this while it still retains it’s heat. Combine it all, combine it all. (light music) There we go. This could be one giant boba ball. But we’re not going that today, so I’m gonna roll this out now and make this into little boba balls. I wanna make sure they retain their moisture while we work on this one. (light music) This feels really smooth right now. Now we can start chopping it up. Now roll it up like so. Our first three boba balls. Now we’re just gonna keep going. This is definitely the most time consuming process. There’s a hack that somebody did where they used a straw to kind of stamp the boba balls out. Here’s your first batch of boba balls. There are little uneven, but that’s okay. It’s just for me to eat anyways. They kind of look like soy beans right now. Throw them in here and toss them around just to coat it. I’ve got these two more mini doughs to go, so I’m gonna finish this off and hopefully we’ll have plenty of boba by the end of this. (soft jazz music) A little toss. All my boba is now done. It looks like this. So these are the ones that you can buy at the Asian markets. These are the ones I made. They look kind of similar. And I think even though I said some of them came out uneven, they actually look pretty similar shaped here. You could probably feed like two or three people with this, but I’ll probably eat it all by myself. Let’s get the water boiling and cook these. Now we can toss this in just like that. Give it a little stir. The ratio is important, you don’t want too little water. Since I’m not making that much, this is a pretty good amount. So I’m gonna let it boil for I think around 15 minutes, then I’m gonna cover it up, turn off the heat, and let it sit for another 10 minutes. I’m gonna go sit down and chill for a little bit. The boba’s almost done, so over here, I am gonna start working out our brown sugar syrup. This is the muscovado sugar I’ve been using. Then I’m gonna add enough sugar for it to dissolve. Now we just wait for this to melt. Okay, the boba is now done. I have a bowl of ice water here, which I’m gonna put the boba in. This step really just helps it become more QQ, which is to give it that bounce and chewiness. Look at them, wow. They feel like they’re gonna be super chewy right now. And then we’re gonna go back over to this side and add the boba into the brown sugar. My boba. So I’m just gonna cook these down now until it becomes that beautiful syrup. It’s super goopy now. I think it’s looking really good. There we go. I have all the components ready now, now it’s just to build the drink. This is the most exciting part. (light music) There we go. And here it is, our brown sugarboba milk. Ta da! Wow, I am so excited. I feel like I might have gone a little heavy on the brown sugar. It’s gonna be really sweet, but– Oh, okay. I know I’m just drinking milk right now, but I do wish I had a boba straw. Mix it up a little. Oh, this is so good. This is so satisfying. There’s also a lot of sugar in here. The boba is like perfectly chewy. It really just smells like caramel pudding. It smells so good. Right now it just looks like milk tea. I’m just adding in some tea that I made earlier. ♪ Smart, smart, smart, smart, smart ♪ ♪ Face face ♪ – Greetings, my beautiful lovelies. It’s Emmy and welcome back. Today I’m gonna be making homemade boba. Boba are those little tapioca pearls. You can find them in those lovely sweetened drinks. Sometimes they contain tea, sometimes they contain milk, but they always contain those beautiful chewy balls of tapioca that create an experience that you’re kind of simultaneously eating and drinking. It sounds kinda nutsy but it’s amazing. Now a few months back, actually probably more like six months ago, I made a recipe for homemade boba. It was inspired by Cooking Tree. And in that video, I made the boba and I rolled them by hand which ended up being a very arduous process. It took a long time. Like, “Oh, it’ll be fine,” and it was fine, but it took a long time. And in the comments, a few of you mentioned that there might be a better and faster way. So in my research, I discovered this antique that was used to make pills that were ball-shaped. It was, basically you had a dough of the medication that you were making and you made a snake and used the machine to roll perfect little spheres of medicine. So then I fell down the hole that is the internet and I discovered carp bait. – [Man] What? – Carp Bait. Carp meaning fish. So from my understanding, the sport of carp fishing is mostly centralized in the UK. And one of the favorite baits that are used are something called boilies, which are homemade carp bait that are made using this tool. Which looks a lot like that old antique tool that I found, but this of course is made with modern materials all in plastic. So I purchased this online. It’s made by the Gardner company and it’s called a Rolaball Longbase. Quite a name, right? There’s two pieces. You take a strip of dough and place it there. You put this on top and then you roll it like this and then it will roll a bunch of balls at the same time. They should be perfectly round and you can get how many? One, two, four, six, eight, 10, 12. 12 times as fast. Now I was super happy with the results of the boba recipe from last time, so I’m gonna be using it again today. If you wanna see the original video, I will put a link down below. Okay, let’s make this. Now if you see little black dots moving around this wall or in the corner or on me or around, those are ants. I have carpenter ants in my space, but. They are harmless. Well, they’re probably chewing on wood, which is probably not a great thing, but yeah. We’ll see if we can co-exist with the ants. If not, we might have to sprinkle cinnamon. I’ve heard cinnamon works. Do you have any tips, tricks, to keep ants away without, you know, poisoning myself and my environment? Let me know down in the comments. All right. A little bit of a tangent. So, we’re gonna need three ingredients to make boba. We’re gonna need some muscovado sugar. We’re gonna need some tapioca powder and some water. Oh, we’re also gonna need some flame. So, let’s get some flame into here. We’re going to take 60 grams of water. Foop. Heat that up. Along with 45 grams of muscovado sugar. Now we need a spatula. Right here. Oh boy. And we’re just gonna dissolve that into, (metal clanks) we’re gonna dissolve that into a syrup. Now we’re gonna turn off the heat and now we have 90 grams of tapioca flour. A teaspoon of that right into the hot syrup. And this is to help prevent lumping. So we’re gonna add a little bit of that in first before we turn on the heat again. And we’re gonna cook this until it’s thickened. It’s like a glue. Take that off the heat. I’m gonna add the remaining tapioca flour and stir that in. Initially when you do this, it looks like there’s gonna be too much starch. But the last time I made it, it all incorporated in. Empty it onto our surface here. Now we’re just gonna knead all the tapioca flour into there. And get out any kind of lumps. Oh this is such a pleasure. It gets so smooth and so warm. I love it. So, I’m gonna reserve half and put it into a plastic bag so it doesn’t dry out. Now the part that I’ve been waiting for. Let’s see if the bait maker will work. (screams) So excited about this. Okay. Meanwhile, I’m gonna get some water boiling behind me so we can cook these once we’re done. So we’re gonna place the strip of dough right here. Place this right on top. Press down and roll. (spring boinging) Uh-oh. Press down and roll. (plastic scraping) I got one! (laughs) Aw. Let’s try that again and dust it with a little bit of tapioca flour. I think my snake was a little too thin. ‘Cause they’re not really touching. They’re not quite big enough. (plastic scraping) Oh, it’s working! It’s working, it’s working, it’s working. Two. Okay, okay. So, I think what I have to do is make my snake a little bit fatter so that the dough actually touches the pieces of the equipment here. All right. Yes! So once we figured this all out, this does indeed work. So, what we need to do is make sure the snake isn’t so narrow. So instead of going for 12, I’m gonna go for 10. And put the snake in the middle. All right, here we go. Push down and roll. Am I getting boba yet? No! (chuckles) Now let’s try dusting it. Now let’s try rolling them. Here we go. It’s not really working here, friends. Oh no. That first time it worked better. Now I think I made them too fat. So, I think at this point, I have plenty of starch on my tool. So let’s remove some of the starch. Maybe that’s part of the problem. Yeah. Ready, here we go. Push that on. That first one worked. Why isn’t the other ones working? It looks like this is a case where using a tool for something else for something else (laughs) is mostly a fail rather than a success. But it does do it faster. Is it more convenient? I’m not exactly sure, so. Some of these are perfect. Look at that, it just rolls off perfectly. That’s satisfying. Maybe this’ll be the one. Ready? Not really. I think I figured something out. I think I had too much starch on my little rolly ball machine. That’s why the first batch worked best. In terms of getting the right diameter for my machine, place the dough in there, take this, give it a good press. And that will give me the diameter. Place it in here. Take the top. Press and roll. Yes! Got it! (sighs) That feels so good. Almost every single one. There you have it! Boba, yes! So, it wasn’t a fault of the machine. It’s just a matter of trying to figure out what’s going on here in terms of consistency with our dough. But, it does work. So pleased. ‘Cause I thought this was gonna be a failure and it’s not. It’s not. So this machine also comes in different diameters. I was only able to get the 12 millimeter and based on this, I think they should be a little bit smaller than this. So, just for your own information. I’m gonna go ahead and make the rest of these and then we will cook these up. Yeah, so excited! (light music) All righty, my lovelies. I am back. I’ve already cooked my boba. It is very simple to do that. You can bring a small saucepan of water up to the boil. Dump your shaped balls in and they’re going to sink to the bottom. Now resist the urge to nudge them because they’re very squishy at this point and you want your boba to be round. So the boba will come to the surface. And once they come to the surface, you’re gonna set your timer for 20 minutes. Then you’re gonna reduce the heat and just allow these to simmer for 20 minutes and then turn off the heat and let them sit for 20 minutes in the cooking liquid. Okay, so now we are at the point in which we are going to make our syrup. We’re gonna add 75 grams of Muscovado sugar. Into that we’re going to add our cooked boba. Look at these, they look amazing. Look at that! Don’t they look great? These are so much bigger than the ones I made last time. But they’re all the same size, which is great. I’m so glad that this work out. I was about to call this experiment a wash, but it’s just a matter of learning how to use the tool. Now, all we’re gonna do is just dissolve the sugar. That’s all we’re doing. This is looking great! (light music) So syrup is made. So this time around, I have larger boba so I’m gonna use a larger glass. Gonna place some of our beautiful boba into my glass. So spin the glass all around. Next, we’re gonna add some ice. Not that piece of ice. (chuckles) (glass clinking) Now we’re gonna top it with some milk. Oh yeah, that’s beautiful. And then just to make it extra decadent, gonna add a little bit of heavy cream. Boop. Last time I whipped the heavy cream up, but I found that it’s not really necessary. There you have it. A beautiful boba drink made with a bait maker. (laughs) Yay! It worked. All righty. The time has come to finally taste the fruits of my labor. We have the brown sugarboba made with a fish bait maker. Let’s give it a go. I’m gonna stir everything together. Make sure that the brown sugar gets incorporated into that. Itadakimasu! They still fit up the straw. Yes, haha! Mm. So good. Mhmm. This is so stinkin’ good. So it reminds me of ice cream, but is a little bit lighter than ice cream, but it has that lovely dairy richness that I associate with ice cream. It’s of course thinner in consistency. It’s not frozen. It’s not like a milkshake where it’s really thick. But you get that wonderful pleasure of cream and milk and sugar combined with the chewy bounciness of boba, which are absolutely delightful. The homemade versions I think are so much more superior than the manufactured ones. They still have a nice chew to them, but they’re softer and more tender. Slightly warm because we had it in the syrup. It’s just so good. Mhmm. The homemade boba not only have a better texture, being soft and bouncy, yet supple and smooth, but they’re slightly sweeter and they just taste really caramelized in molasses. Hi guyss :)) Long time so see, I miss y’all so much :< Today, I'm gonna show you guys how to make black tapioca pearls, it's a piece of cake but sooo gudd :)) After that I'll tell y guys bout my cat in the previous video... First of all is the tapioca pearls. You have to mix 125g tapioca starch and 10g cacao powder in a CAT bowl (if you dont have cacao powder, you can use rice flour/tapioca starch) dont tell me you haven't got this cat bowl yet. Muahahahahaha Hu hu it reminds me of my cat breaking 2,3 cat bowls at once. I just want to kill him :( At 3am, his nails got stuck in the tablecloth, THENN he pulled it and dropped all the things . I almost had a heart attack. Ah leave the cat bowl besides and let's move on to cook the sugar. Put 60g black sugar in the pot (supermarkets sell a lot) Along with that is 5g tapioca starch and 70ml water mix it gently for the flour to dissolve After that put it on the stove with low heat. Cook and mix at the same time beause the mixture is cooked real fast Keep mixing until it get condensed like this Immediately turn off the the gas Then take a cat bowl, oh wait you dont have any. Poor you :)) Take the tapioca flour and cacao powder that already mixed in the the pot right after that (dont turn on the stove) mix the flour well with sugar mixture. But be careful, this stupid tapioca is heavy and easy to splash everywhere. You should gently mix it and will knead it later. The mixture when mixing in the pot will be be very dry, it hasn't absorb the water yet. Pour it on the table and knead by hand when it's still warm At first the flour will be separated and a little bit hot. But try around few mins Be careful, don't get burn, I will be hurted hihihi Remember to look at how to knead, not the hands :)) It's really hot. I was about to make cake. But it's too hot I decide to make boba It's too hot my armpit flow like a Niagara fall. Haizz what chu looking at? want me or what?? go away :)) Almost show my fat belly. But not at fat as someone who is watching :)) Just kidding, when the flour is smooth (around 5 mins) then stop. After that, shape the the flours, divide to 4 parts roll to a loooonnggg shape I request you to look at the flour, not my hands After that, use a knife or flour cutting tools to divide the flour into small pieces Remember to cut around 0.5cm only. If its too big, when boiling it wont cooked. Some people make that mistake When shaping it, you should cover the rest with wrapping paper, so it wont get dry Because this flour dry fast, when it got dried, you cant shape it This part looks so good for the eyes It looks like snow, I wish I can see a real snow once This is tapioca flour. After shaping, cover it with tapioca flour so it wont stuck together. After that put away the extra flour Hihi lemme flex on the bear pot. I cant stop looking at it Add the pearls into a boil water pot. More water After the the water boil again, begin to count the time. 20 mins, boil in medium heat. remember to check and stir it. If its burnt, you will eat pig porridge After done boiling, close the cover, let it sit still for 30 mins (dont touch it).This process helps the pearls to cook thoroughly. While waiting, I'll pretend to be cleaning, so you can see me being a good person :)) Pour the boil water into the bowl (Basically throw it away, we don't need it) Bring the cooked pearls into a different pot Add more 50ml of water Along with 35g brown sugar. You can adjust it. Place on the stove and continue to cook for the second times. This time you have to stir a lot After the mixture is boiled, turn it low. Cook and stir for around 5 mins, or until the mixture is condensed Like this, so when coating the the cup, it clings easily homemade pearl will be lighter than the the pearls in store. You can see its more brown that black. It's not transparent as the pearls outside, but still sticky and good. The pearls after cooked, should drink in around 3-5 hours. Dont put it in the fridge, it will get harden and bleh blehh Now I will make the milk tea. I'll divide into 2 recipes. It's up to you to choose which recipes First one, I will use 15g black tea. Anyone doesn't have the filter then byeee Just kidding, anyone who doesn't have it, you can pour the boiled water into the the tea. Then you can use the strainer. This recipe I used 200ml boiled water to brew The sound is so satisfy :)) Brew around 15-20 mins After done brewing, take the the leaves out. Add 20g brown sugar into the tea. You can adjust it Next is 60g mlk powder. I prefer using MT35, rich and doesn't affect the tea smell Shake it up guys, shake until they come together This is the last step to complete a cup of boba The sauce is coated around the the cup, very bootiful honey ah Add ices remember to let the drink cool off then you can add ices I think this milk tea recipe after cooking and brew in the the fridge for few hours is the bezt. ( when haven't added ice or pearls) See? Complete a perfect boba cup, the cat cup is so cute Now is the second recipe. The recipe is very easy, everyone can do it (his face looks irritated) First I want to flex on this cute cat hanging on the cup, because it's so ADORABLE why my stuff is always cuteeee. This recipe I used 2 black tea bags, and brew with 100ml boiled water The tea bag will brew faster, around 5-10mins is good After done brewing, dip for few times (squeeze it too, I just pretend to dip like that, but behind the scene is me squeeze the tea to death :)) See you cat in next videooo After done squeezing, add 20g brown sugar or white sugar . You can adjust it Let's finish the 2nd milk tea recipe This cup I'll add more pearls because I'm THIN, I drink it. And the other one for who is fat :) Do exactly the same things as the 1st recipe Pour the tea with sugar (cool down) into the cup Finally is 140ml non-sugar milk. It's so pretty when pouring milk into tea Because this one is not that rich, so I add more whipping (nah, Im lying, Im out of whipping so i took topping instead :)) sprinkle some cacao for fancy. And we done! Very easy right? The pearls are chewy. It tastes like in the store 95%. The milk tea smells good, rich and very good, but not as much as me. I prefer the 1st recipe Because using milk powder make the tea stand out, unlike fresh milk, its just not as good as Last video I told you guys about how my cat wont meow Wait, look at him. This stupid cat I swear I almost choke myself, he cant even bite it. why youre so stupidddd About the meowing, I'll tell you later in the next video. world like mushrooms! Taro/芋頭means potato and bubble tea/波霸奶茶 (or boba) is a drink with chewy tapioca balls in it. These chewy tapioca balls are called boba/波霸.
hey guys so today I’m going to show you guys how to make tyro milk tea with both apples at home by yourself it’s really really easy it’s really cheap it’s really quick and yeah it tastes exactly how it tastes my shops if you guys let me see how you can make that just keep watching so the first thing you’ll need is the actual paper and this is what it looks like it’s very dry and like light it smells exactly how it ends up tasting those so that’s what it looks like and you can get this from any Asian grocery store so just google like newest Asian grocery store to me and you’ll find an Asian grocery store and they’ll have this this whole packet was literally four dollars so yeah so what you’re gonna do is you’re gonna put this in a pot I’ll show you one second so however many you want in your drink you’re gonna put in a pot I thought it was because I love them and I’m gonna make it for myself today so you put them in a pot now I’ve just put them in a pot with boiling water like this and you just put it on there do you let these boil with the stove on for 20 minutes right and then after 20 minutes you’ll turn off the stove and put a lid on it and just let them sit in that hot water for another 20 minutes so it takes like 40 minutes 6 so annoying alright because it’s like 20 minutes now I think a little bit longer actually like that and just let them sit like that for 20 minutes basically and that’s just gonna make it like a cycle like well I caught water or whatever utterly nerd alrighty so well that’s just sitting like that just you know making itself pretty much I’m gonna grab a glass of water put some ice in it some water in it ok when I put some ice in it from the fridge already got some ice in it in the class the next thing you need is taro powder so after momochi through the packet away which it came it get it from your grocery store literally go to your grocery store go to like a tea section and you’ll find taro milk powder basically but this is what looks like my put it in a container and it’s smells very well so strong it’s not like baby baby food mixed we can mop up on any way you want to put one big spoon here the thing I don’t know the proper measurements is basically they’re just whatever you think so want to spoon it in like that anyway maybe a little bit more to really make the slave astray alrighty now to make this you literally just put water in it like I’m just going to literally put water from the fridge in here and then I’m going to grow my spoon yeah big powder paper with eleven dollars and the balls were four dollars so for like fifteen dollars you can literally get like sixty drinks out of a Joey [Applause] now these balls should be ready pour this into the bowl if they usually stall the balls in a syrup like a sweet syrup put so what you can do is I mean wants like a let me just hit that you can mix in like a little syrup of your choice so I’m just gonna put in a little bit of maple syrup doesn’t matter it just adds like slaver to them makes them sweet because you guys know they take like barely anything you grab your drink and you put as many as you want in your drink I’m gonna put basically all of them yeah and then look at that you got your own bubble to drink literally from home even though you have to like cook them for like 20 minutes and let them sit like 20 minutes it’s honestly so so easy and so cheap yeah so for me the only thing now that you need to the straw you know those text rules and I really have one Kemp little bit unprepared so literally what I just appreciate been doing is I’ll be spooning some like that oh my god I cook them perfectly whilst I’m I didn’t cook the balls long enough you know a bit hard but it’s so squishy so yeah that’s a mega hi I’m Felicia late $15 so yeah thank you guys so much watching I hope it helped and subscribe and I hope you guys a three day [Music]
I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t like bubble tea. Even my husband, who claims to not really enjoy fruit-flavoured things, especially likes bubble tea. What’s not to like? The combinations of flavours are practically endless and it’s always fun trying a new store and unique flavours. It may have been invented in Taiwan but there are now hundreds of stores in London alone. You could be forgiven for thinking they are all the same though – if you’re at one that serves only two flavours! This is because each flavour requires a different size and texture of boba (bubble) balls. Luckily for you, I’m going to show you how to make your own.
[Music] slam everyone and welcome back to my channel today I’m going to share with you how to make this bobamilk tea so I am going to show you how to make four different kinds of flavors so these are one of my favorites if you don’t know I’m a huge fan of bubblemilk tea I’ve been wanting to do this video for a long time finally today I sat down and I’ll write down the ingredients and recipe yesterday I went outside searching for the bubble straws which are larger than normal straws and I couldn’t find it so I had to order it online on eBay and it didn’t arrive yet I only have one straw so yeah if you want to know how to recreate this recipe keep on watching to make your bubble tea you’ll be needing some black stuff yo couples so this one I have here it gets ready in 5 minutes there are other few couples that are cold like their pre new and it takes like an hour to get them cooked so because I don’t have that much time I just bought this one and this gets ready in 5 minutes so I think I found it you stir the black stuff yo couples and this is what I need to make my ball Bucky I can’t think I’m gonna grab like 2 pack of this I’m gonna make a lot when cooking the tapioca pearls make sure to have enough water in your pot for them to cook so I’m adding 1 cup of the pea oka in 4 cups of water you want to boil it up yoga for 5 to 6 minutes you’ll know they’re done when you see the tapioca rising to the top just make sure to lower the heat about halfway through the cooking process it should be chewy and tender when done cooking if it’s still hard in the middle cook them for another 1 to 2 minutes now that they’re done I’m scooping with the pure koi in another Bowl right now that a pure car flavorless to give some sweetness I’m going to add in some brown sugar you can use any sweeteners of your choice such as honey agave syrup and etc then set it aside room temperature so you’re looking for this kind of consistency also all the sugar should be completely melted and you should have a very syrupy bubble like consistency so while my boba is cooling down it’s time to prepare the tea first off I’m brewing some traditional black tea when brewing make sure to leave your tea in the hot water for at least six to eight minutes to get a really concentrated tea as this will be diluted with milk afterwards then I’m brewing a really good quality of matcha tea and finally a raspberry tea so now that I have all my tea ready I’m going to let them rest on room temperature until completely cool for the light chain Mobile iced tea I wasn’t able to find light cheese soup so I ended up buying our Buddhist seal which i think is from the same family plant of light sheen other than having a different color it has a very similar taste to light so I think it works pretty fine as a substitute once you have all your ingredients ready you can start assembling I can’t do it right now because my PA still very hot I want to let it chill completely and then let it cool in the fridge overnight so then tomorrow I can enjoy my bubble tea all my ingredients are here there already and then now what’s up to do is to assemble so I have my tapioca pearls here to have my condensed milk just to give extra sweetness to the milk tea I got some ice cubes I have my our Buddhist pub soy milk this is the Arbutin syrup I’ve got my black tea green tea and this is the raspberry tea and this is my homemade sugar syrup let’s start by making the original baba milk tea you want to add a generous amount of sweet Papa in your class I suggest adding about 3 to 4 tbsp then I’m going to add some ice cubes next I’m obviously adding in the black tea followed by 2 TSP of condensed milk this will not just give extra sweetness but give extra creaminess as well lastly I’m going to pour in half a cup of chilled soil milk and mix well or the matcha tea I’m going to do the exact same thing I’m adding in the green tea to my tapioca and ice and then sweetening it with 2 TSP of condensed milk you can add less or more depending on how sweet you want your bubblemilk tea to be then I’m going to add the chilled soy milk you can use any milk of your choice and mix well for the light boba I see I’m putting in a cup of our Buddha syrup to my tapioca pearls and eyes as I said before this is just a substitute please use light zero five available next I’m adding some homemade zero for extra sweetness but this is totally optional then I’m going to top it off with some black tea and steer well finally for the raspberry bubblemilk tea again I’m doing the same thing combining tea milk and condensed milk and stirring it well so guys that’s it for the recipes I hope you enjoy them and give them a try we hope you enjoyed this recipe don’t forget to give this video a big thumbs up subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already follow me my social medias Instagram Facebook and I’ll just do my next one bye [Applause] [Music]
If you are into bubble tea, and I sure am, Iced Matcha Latte with Boba has been something I’ve kept returning to when craving bubble tea. Bubble tea or boba is a trend that exploded in the US in the last few years. But even if you have not heard of it, read on and learn some history about boba, how it got to America and why I love these drinks so much!
(upbeat music) – Hi friends, – Hey everyone. – Thank you so much for tuning in to Cook with April on Thirsty Thursday. Today we are making another boba recipe because you guys seem to really love the milk tea one. So today we are making an ice matcha latte with boba of course and you know we love boba here. So let’s go ahead and get started. So let’s go over the ingredients you guys are gonna need some matcha powder. This is the one that I have. I just wanted to show you the packaging. This is by Boku. It’s their super matcha green tea, but just search green tea matcha powder and you’ll find it anywhere and everywhere. Condensed milk, this is what we’re gonna use to sweeten the drink instead of sugar this time around. And you guys know you’re gonna need a jar with a spoon. I got mine on Amazon and I like it because it’s reusable and washable and all of that and I also use this for just water sometimes Honey. Honey will sweeten the boba coz you guys know I love doing that. Like when you suck the boba balls you get like a little bit of the sweetness from the honey and is so good. And of course boba you guys. and this is the packaging that I use. I get it on Amazon and it is so good. It’s like a chewy perfect consistency and very easy to cook. And then any milk that you like. I’m using um soymilk but you can use almond, whole milk, oat milk any kind of milk that you like or rice milk too. And then water. We’re gonna boil water in a little bit as well for ah the to mix it with a matcha green tea but also we’re gonna boil like a pot of water for the boba too. You guys, I boiled a pot of water. I just followed the instructions on the boba packaging and now I’m gonna put the boba right in there. And like last time, if you guys watched my multi boba the boba will pop up when it’s ready and cooked. You guys the boba is already starting pop up, which means that they’re almost ready, but we’re waiting for all of them to pop up. But it’s so fun to watch the boba balls like pop up. And then after that, you’re gonna cover it and turn the heat too low, or just turn off the heat completely and cover it for two to three minutes. And then after that, the boba balls are ready. So here we boiled the hot water, I need about a cup of hot water. He needs a little less, you know, like three quarter cups, and what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna add the matcha powder. And usually, If you have like the legit matcha powder kit, there’s like this really cool whisk, but I don’t have that. So I’m just using a fork to mix it all together. Like that. Since this is nice and hot, we’re gonna add the condensed milk to sweeten this up. And you guys, it all depends on how much you want it sweet. So, you know, just do what you like as far as sweetness. Do a little taste test here and there while you’re pouring. The boba is ready you guys I’m just gonna remove the lid. It was hanging out for about two to three minutes and now it’s time to drain and so that’s what I’m just gonna do I love this so much it’s meant meant for pasta but it works for boba too. See look at this you guys. So I’m gonna link everything below the boba and everything. So now we’re gonna add the honey to the boba and mix all of that together. Because all the boba’s hot it will melt it, you know, its gonna be so good you guys. Yes. Mix it all really well. It’s gonna melt. (upbeat music) You guys see that how it melted because the boba is so hot that the honey melted. Yum. You guys it’s time. So we’re gonna put that boba right in that cup. This is the perfect amount. I cooked half a cup of boba. You could have done a whole cup but I mean everything is good for this serving,you know. And then here I’m mixing, this is a condensed milk with the matcha and the water right, I’m gonna add that right on top of ice. And then this is about a quarter cup of soy milk. I don’t really need that much. I just want to do like half that. So yeah, a little bit half of that. I’m gonna mix it really well. Just to cool it down because I like my matcha um ice but if you guys don’t, you don’t even have to put the ice. And then we don’t want the ice in the drink. Do we? And y’all, I need a new strainer. (laughs softly) Obviously need a new strainer. And then we’re gonna just pour that in without the ice. (upbeat music) Ooh that was perfect you guys. (upbeat music) Alright you guys, we got taste tester Justin up in here. – Let me have it. – I already tried it and its bomb okay not to toot my own horn, but it’s pretty good. I loves it. – Mmhhh – Right, right. Can I can I also be another taste tester? – Okay first of all, again this boba is seriously legit. If you guys didn’t make it from the last recipe, this boba is awesome. And it’s super easy to make. Green tea latte. You know matcha lattes, like did it happen at Starbucks? – Mmhh – Just cause I feel like this, this one tastes very very similar to that. It tastes delicious. It’s not too sweet. A perfect complement to the boba. It’s not you know, that’s not usually, usually I do like Toro_ – He loves Toro. – That’s usually my go to Toro – Let’s do Toro one day_ – I never do green tea much, but it’s like really good. – Yeah I love it. like a short ride this one was like an hour long and it was emma’s first time um being in the back of it and she said it was your dream and it was her dream and i because because i promised her in mexico when we were there when me and me and nico did parasailing she was like can i just go on that jet ski and then we ran out of like we did something else besides that yeah and then yeah she was like holding me against it and she’s like you have to take me jetski so we did and i’m sorry i was like you’re gonna regret it and i’m like she was like no i loved it and then after she she loved it she kept telling me to go faster what mm-hmm we did a raise because we had two jets here and um you guys won because like daddy was holding the camera yeah i can’t believe it was trying to like record and drive at the same time but he did it and then we like recorded the race the mini race and then i just booked it i booked it so fast i was like almost i sure am always like that was a lot of fun yeah a lot of fun i think that would be her highlight and i and i wanted to go on a boat yeah i was against the jet ski yeah because i didn’t want to go jet ski because we had the option of either doing the jet ski or renting a boat for like an hour or a couple of hours i’m not sure and there was a barbecue bowl mm-hmm and daddy we’re probably gonna do that for his birthday if you’re watching this video no my husband is turning forward you this year so we were planning something very special because we originally planned to go away but obviously we can’t because of the situation and then so we decided to do like a kind of like a mini not a mini i would say like a boat um a yacht not a yacht not a yacht you can go on a yacht by yourself yeah we’re we’re finding did you know i don’t know you will now no i have to ask him anyway see if he wants to do that and for father’s day we got him kobe shoes right yeah but what does that have to do with father’s day i don’t know birthday and father’s day some of these pearls are hard and some of them are really soft but maybe we should like get a barbecue for him on a boat a barbecue on a boat do you think but i think but i think we’ll be quite bored like you know that float with the barbecue it’s two and a half hours i don’t know but what are you going to do on the lake there was like a a round kind of like a donut shaped um mini belt and then you have a barbecue in the middle and then they would also provide you with food but we don’t know you can like barbecue onto the the lake but we don’t know what food could be hot dogs could be straight steak i would assume it’s like something something very like inexpensive convenient for both sides yeah i guess then but yeah i think i think we should like what do you get for his birthday i don’t know nothing a big kiss i think i’m gonna give him a michael jordan picture really i hated that was michael jordan yeah so how many boat where though where are you gonna rent it um i don’t know i gotta look it up or we were thinking i’m doing like a cabin by the lake his dream house is like living by the lake her loves are like there’s like a water person so you you’re such a water person emma loves the pool she doesn’t like being in the lake she doesn’t like at the beach she loves the pool reason because she could like go under and see she does a really good swimmer with her goggles she’s a horrible swimmer without her goggles but she says that yeah she says if if i i can’t swim without my goggles no do you want more i’ll see you a little more i’m not sure yeah but what the best place because salem um sailing my friend um what do you call this he um kind of i think the best place to vote is grand forks i don’t know i’ve never been up there but we are going to penticton later in the middle of august i believe but maybe we should rent a boat i think you’re supposed to shake it like that what do you think he would like though or dad yeah a house or a boat i think i personally would want a house with the lake side and then and then for the day you know you get you got two everything okay i’m gonna pour a little bit more in here what about the there’s a lot oh whoa it’s like talking talking you know what i’m saying never heard of you say that oh this one’s more milky yeah weird yeah i think dad would like impossible i know i would like the um because our birthdays are mine’s on the ninth and his is on the 12th so we normally would combine the two together with the family and friends so we’re thinking again maybe a cabin by the lake a cabin by a lake lakeside cabin mm-hmm there’s a lot expensive with the hot tub with the hot tub you think dad would like a jet ski better than a boat um i think he would rather have about just like oh yeah yeah or he said earlier we’d rather yeah because we were deciding whether to do the that day we were designed to do the boat or the dusky and then he voted for the boat and you voted for the boat but emma and i voted for the jet ski and the girls won because emma wanted her dream i mean at least has his dream i thought she was really gonna regret it because the one would blow in her face i’m surprised i didn’t have powers though no because normally niko breaks out and like little hive around his under his chin when he’s like very cold and that day was um cat hair oh no that day was hot but the water was freezing cold like it’s like ice cold it was ice cold seriously and then we got like when on the way back it was a little windy so every time the waves would hit the jet ski it would splash onto the face i thought emma would like you know complain or whine but she didn’t say a word she was good she was good i’m gonna take two more bites of this boba wow i’m surprised we ate most of the boba for the pearls i’m gonna work on the boba now this is like your favorite so how is it now that i got to do the video how’s that read it i don’t think it’s going to be my favorite video today Delicious Tapioca Balls, called BOBA, are a popular dessert in Asia. Traditionally, they are made by steaming small balls of sweet soft dough until they become soft and translucent. With this method, the cooking process takes about an hour per batch! With an Instant Pot or pressure cooker, however, you can cook your tapioca balls in just a few minutes. It’s like magic. If you use a pressure cooker to make them, they don’t even require soaking. You can make them start to finish in about 15 minutes! Because there is no waiting around while the Boba cook or soak, these sweet treats can be readily and easily prepared on the spur of the moment to satisfy that sweet tooth!
[Music] hey guys it’s angel so if you’re stuck at home and you have a craving for bubble tea this is the video for you today I’m gonna show you how to make 15 minute instant pop boba and I’ve got my instant pot right here it’s the instant pot mini duo and honestly guys this is one of my favorite ways to make boba now because you can just put it in the instant pot set it for 15 minutes walk away do your homework do a load of laundry come back and you have perfectly made boba yum and what’s great is that if you’re home alone and you only need boba for one cup of boba this is super ideal so if you’re interested in learning how to make instant pop boba keep watching so the first thing we’ll need is we’re gonna need some boba or tapioca pearls now you can get these at your local Asian grocery store a bag like this costs around two to three dollars and it’s two pounds worth of boba so that is a lot of boba you can usually find that at your local Asian grocery store but if you can’t get out there now because of everything that’s going on you can also order it off of Amazon I’ll post a link to that in the video description just do note that these boba pearls are very I guess soft and when they’re in the bag they may crumble a little bit so just be careful when handling them if for some reason you have crumbled ones in your bag just go ahead and remove those and just measure out a quarter cup of the round tapioca pearls next I’m going to fill up the instant pot with water and here you actually want quite a bit of water in there because you want the boba to be able to float and swim around okay now we want to set the instant pot to saute now guys you’re gonna need a little patience because once you put that on saute it could take about 10 to 15 minutes for the water to come to a rolling boil and you want to make sure that the water is at a rolling boil before you put these guys in or else these are gonna stick to the bottom of the pan and that’s not fun you’ll get soggy boba sit down [Music] the water is at a rolling boil right now I don’t know if you can hear that but there’s tons of steam coming up and in addition to the boba you’ll want to get a spoon ready I’m gonna put the boba in give it a quick stir one and I’m going to stir this three times so that was the first time and just give it a stir and I’m going to let the boba kind of swirl around and when the boba stops swirling I’m gonna do it again two and three so after you’re done the third time the water should have come back to a rolling boil and then you don’t have to worry about the boba sticking to the bottom of the pan that’s why I recommend stirring three times now go ahead and close the instant pot cancel that make sure you change this to seal and then we’re gonna start pressure cook on normal high for fifteen minutes now we wait now once the 15 minutes are up your instant pot will go to keep warm and what you want to do is just wait another 15 minutes and then we’ll do the quick release I don’t know why I really like that sound so here we go let’s check it out okay so I’m just gonna give that a stir and wow they are perfect look at that so beautiful now I’m just gonna take and scoop some into a bowl looks like that guy’s next it’s really important here to rinse and drain the boba under super cold water this also helps to stop the cooking process and shock the boba making our Lovat extra chewy oh no boba down we lost some boba in the stink be careful guys so after straining it it’s okay to leave a little bit of water in there then to sweeten the boba we’re gonna add one teaspoon of brown sugar so that’s one teaspoon of brown sugar give that it gets a stir now we’re just gonna let the boba sit and absorb the brown sugar for about ten to fifteen minutes and while we’re waiting for that I’m gonna make myself a hot milk tea to go with my boba [Music] and that guys is how you make instant pop boba as you can see super easy 15-minute cook time 15 minute quick release and perfect boba each time let’s try it mmm perfectly chewy a little bit of brown sugar the hints of brown sugar and it tastes just like you get at the store I’m angel oh thank you guys so much for watching if you guys like this video don’t forget to give me a thumbs up and if you want to see more Bogue arista videos like this post in the comments and let me know what kind of bubble tea you want me to make and finally guys I just wanted to say stay safe be kind enjoy your bubble tea and if I can make boba you can be a bo barista too Cheers [Music]
